VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are what make this sale so successful. Because Kids Grow is mostly staffed by VOLUNTEERS and we need your help before, during and after the sale.
We have some great incentives for your time as a volunteer. You get to shop before the public at our PRESALE, the perfect way to make sure you can shop early and get the best selection. As a consignor you have the added opportunity to make a higherpercentage on your items, with the more hours you work!
We promise a light-hearted atmosphere and yummy treats. Enjoy a few hours away from home with some pretty cool adults, who promise not to ask you to pour another glass of juice, or expect you to change another dirty diaper!
Examples of Volunteer Duties:
•Assemble clothing racks and set-up tables prior to sale;
•Assist with checking in merchandise and putting it on display;
•Help shoppers needing information or assistance;
•Straighten up the sales floor;
•Work in the check-out area;
•Help carry items to shoppers' cars;
Break down racks and tables and other clean-up;
VOLUNTEER FAQ
Do I have to Consign to be a volunteer?
No. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer at the sale. We welcome the help and will reward you with a VOLUNTEERPre-Sale Shopping Pass.
Who is eligible to shop one of the Pre-Sales?
Volunteers who work a 4 hour shift or participate in select SHARE categories and Consignors may shop one of our Friday Pre-Sales.
Is it really worth it to volunteer for 4 hours to receive a Presale pass?
Definitely, we receive thousands of items for consignment at the sale. By volunteering, you will be able to shop the sale first and shop from the largest choice of items! Many of our volunteers help out just for this benefit and it is well worth it!!
Can someone else work a shift in my place?
Certainly! We have Grandmoms, GrandDads, sisters and husbands help out! Husbands come in especially handy during set up and take down, and even during the sale as security and delivering items to buyers vehicles.
May I bring my children with me during my shift?
No. It will be too difficult for you to work and watch the little ones at the same time. Plus, it is too hard to keep the little ones away from all of the wonderful toys. We do have a couple of shifts available to Baby wearing Mom's with light duties and the occasional nursing break.
What if I need to change my shift?
You are allowed to change (subject to availability) or cancel your shift. To change or delete your shift, login to the Volunteer page on the CONSIGNOR HQ Page. Check the box and click “Remove me from selected shift”. Next, select a new shift or not. Once our system is down on THURSDAY APRIL 15, at 11:00pm you will no longer be able to cancel a shift.
How do I get my Pre-Sale Pass if I am not a consignor?
If you are scheduled to work before the Pre-Sale, we will give you your shopping pass during your volunteer shift. If you are not working until after the Pre-sale, the shopping passes will be available during the consignor Drop Off times and you may come by any time between 1:30pm & 7:45pm FRIDAY.
I am not able to physically be at the sale are there other ways I can earn a pass to one of the Pre-Sales?
Yes. We have ways you can earn a pass without having to be the Hall please view our SHARE page as well as the options below.
OTHER VOLUNTEER OPTIONS
We have need of snacks and drinks for our volunteers and ourselves at the Hall during the sale. We have few options where you can barter a Pass to our PARTICIPANTS Pre-Sale . All barter items must be delivered to the Hall Friday between 1:30-2:00pm. This will qualify you for one or two Presale Passes (for you, a friend, a mom, a hubby etc.) . We have need of any free advertising for the sale, as this benefits everyone involved in the sale. We do advertising ourselves, but the more publicity we get, the more successful our sales will be! If you have contacts in radio, TV, newspaper, etc. pleaseCONTACT US and tell us how you can contribute. You will receive credit for 4 volunteer hours for each media outlet that we get exposure with. This is at a first come first serve basis with each media outlet and you must receive a confirmation email back from us to receive the credit. FREE ADVERTISING = 4 VOLUNTEER HOURS which may be applied to either one Presale Pass (for you, a friend, a mom, a hubby etc.) or an extra 5%on your consignor sales and can be applied to any and all consignor benefits.
We also need help soliciting local businesses for items for the Goody Bags. (details on our OPPORTUNITIES page) Bring us four Goody Bag contibutors and recieve credit for 3 volunteer hours. 3 CONTRIBUTORS = 4 VOLUNTEER HOURS which again can be credited as 5%more for Consignors or one VOLUNTEERPre-Sale Pass (for you, a friend, a mom, a hubby etc.) Be sure they mention your name when they contact us!
