PRINTING TAGS
All tags must be printed on 60 -70lb white or off white cardstock. Hint: Most printers can print on cardstock but some need to be loaded one page at a time.
Be sure you turn off any popup blocker you may have running. When you generate tags they pop up in a new window for easy printing. WAIT until all the tags have downloaded (including bar codes) before you click the print button.
If any information is changed AFTER printing a tag, or between sales, you MUST print a new tag. DO NOT handwrite anything on the tag.
All barcodes must be clearly printed for our scanners to pick them up. If possible, use a laser printer. If you are using an ink-jet printer make sure the ink jets have been cleaned and the lines do not look smudged at all. Set print quality at normal or good (Best quality puts out too much ink and blurs the barcodes!) Please only print on white or off white cardstock using black ink. This step is very important as our scanner will not be able to properly scan your tag and will slow down the checkout process!
You can print your tags all at once when you finish entering your items or a few at a time. Tags will print 6 to a page of cardstock.
You can cut the tags using scissors or a scrapbook paper cutter. Please cut each tag carefully so that it looks like the one shown above and Pin as indicated in the sections below.
ATTACHING TAGS TO CLOTHES
When tags become separated from items, everyone loses! We will not sell items without tags because the consignor cannot be properly credited, unless item can be matched through inventory. PLEASE help us to sell as many of your items as possible by making certain your tags are securely attached!
Punch a hole in each tag in the designated spot, then use a safety pin and attach to the garment through the hole.
Position tag on the garments top left (over the heart). For knit items (t-shirts), be careful to safety pin through the binding on the edge rather than through the thin fabric as safety pins will create holes in some knits. Pants skirts and shorts should have tag positioned on the left near the waistband.
Tags must be attached directly to the garment, not to the hanger!
ATTACHING TAGS TO SHOES
Shoes should be secured together, cable ties, butcher's twine or curling ribbon are all ideal for this!
Tags can usually be attached with cable ties etc. through a grommet, buckle hole, etc.
Please do not put a price tag on each shoe, only one tag per pair.
Only as a last resort, when there is no way to attach the tag to the shoes and to join the shoes, put them in a Ziploc bag, seal the bag with clear packing tape and tape tag to bag.
ATTACHING TAGS TO TOYS & EQUIPMENT
Again cable ties, butcher's twine or curling ribbon are great for attaching tags to toys and equipment! You may use a small peice of packing tape to re-inforce the hole you punched. NO TAPE near or on the barcode or your item will not scan!
Cribs, swings, and pack n plays MUST be assembled by you! Attach the tag so it will show well when the item is assembled.
On large multiple piece items (for example crib and changing table set) include how many pieces in the description.
If using baggies for small grouped objects please zipclose and seal opening with clear packing tape punch and use safety pin or cable tie to attach the tag. Please do not tape tags diirectly to an item, if you cannot tie, or pin a tag on you may attach a string or curling ribbon to the tag and then tape the string or ribbon to the item.
